Tensions are escalating in the Hormuz Strait as various nations, including Jordan, Venezuela, and South Korea, intensify their cooperation to address rising security concerns and regional trade dynamics. The situation is further complicated by military actions near Al Udeid Air Base and ongoing negotiations over shipping security, prompting countries like Brazil and the Philippines to enhance their strategic partnerships in response to these developments. As multiple entities focus on the strategic significance of Hormuz, the potential for conflict and disruption in global trade remains a pressing issue.

How News Intel works

News Intel is a feed of AI-written sentences about where the world is going. Under the hood, GDELT, RSS and curated Twitter handles stream into an entity graph (people, organizations, places, indicators) keyed by Wikidata QIDs. Pattern detectors run hourly against that graph - when one fires, the LLM is asked to write a sentence describing what's happening. The percentage you see is a magnitude-of-shift score computed from the graph signals themselves; the LLM never sees or produces the number.

Filter the feed by Topic (Geopolitics / Tech) and then by Region or Vertical. Each card links to the full claim detail page with the underlying entities, evidence events, and signal history.
